About Roof Material Visualizer

Roof Material Visualizer shows your building with a different roof covering. Upload an exterior photo, choose clay tiles, natural slate, standing-seam metal, asphalt shingles, concrete tiles, a green roof or thatch, and the roof is re-covered in that material with realistic texture, course direction and edge detailing.

Only the covering changes. The roof's geometry (pitch, ridges, hips, valleys and overhangs) stays exactly as photographed, along with the facade, walls, windows, doors, gutters, chimneys, lighting and surroundings. The result looks like a photograph of the same house after a re-roofing job, which makes it genuinely useful when choosing between quotes.

This page presets the AI Facade Material Swap engine for roofing rather than wall cladding, so the material list is roof-specific. Homeowners use it to picture a replacement roof; roofers and agents use it to show what a property could look like re-covered.

How to use Roof Material Visualizer

  1. Upload an exterior photo where the roof is clearly visible.
  2. Pick the roofing material you are considering.
  3. Click Render to generate the re-roofed building.
  4. Compare the new roof with the original using the before/after slider.
  5. Download the image, or try another material to compare options side by side.

Frequently asked questions

No. Pitch, ridges, hips, valleys, overhangs, chimneys and gutters all stay exactly as photographed, only the covering material is replaced.

It is the same engine with a roof-specific material list and a prompt that protects the facade. Use Facade Material Swap when you want to change wall cladding instead.

A daylight exterior shot taken from far enough back that a good part of the roof plane is visible. A straight-on ground-level photo where the roof is barely in frame gives the tool little to work with.

Yes: running the same photo through several materials is a quick way to see what you would actually be paying for. It is a visualization, not a specification: colors and profiles vary by manufacturer.

The same credits as AI Facade Material Swap, since it shares the engine. Failed renders are not charged.
