Turn a list of front and back pairs into printable double-sided flashcards, with cut guides and back sheets already mirrored for duplex printing.

Options

One card per line: front and back separated by a vertical bar, a tab, a semicolon or a comma.

Back sheets are mirrored left to right, so every answer lands behind its own question when you print double-sided and flip on the long edge.

Live preview

For an exact 1:1 print, keep the print dialog at 100% scale and turn off "Fit to page".

If your language's alphabet is not supported by the built-in PDF fonts, the downloaded PDF falls back to English labels — printing always keeps your language.

About Flashcard Maker

The Flashcard Maker turns a two-column list into a set of printable cards. Paste your pairs one per line, separated by a vertical bar, a tab, a semicolon or a comma, add an optional third column for a category label, and the sheets are laid out immediately at 2, 4, 8 or 10 cards to a page.

The part that decides whether a flashcard sheet is usable is the back. Fronts are printed on one sheet and backs on the next, with the columns of the back sheet reversed left to right, because a duplex printer set to flip on the long edge turns a portrait page over about its long side and mirrors it horizontally. That reversal is what puts each answer directly behind its own question when you cut the sheet up.

Cut guides can be printed as light dashed rules between the cards, corners can be rounded, and the text size follows the card size so a long definition still fits. Everything is drawn in real millimetres in your browser, so the preview, the printout and the PDF are the same sheets at the same size, and your list never leaves the page.

How to use Flashcard Maker

  1. Paste your pairs, one card per line, front and back separated by a bar or a tab.
  2. Choose how many cards go on a page: 2, 4, 8 or 10.
  3. Leave the backs switched on so a mirrored back sheet follows every front sheet.
  4. Turn cut guides and rounded corners on or off, and set the text size.
  5. Print double-sided with flipping on the long edge, or download the PDF.

Frequently asked questions

Yes. Building the cards, printing them and downloading the PDF are free, with no watermark and no account needed.

Print the PDF with double-sided printing set to flip on the long edge, which is the usual default for portrait pages. The back sheets are already mirrored for that setting, so every answer ends up behind its own question.

Switch it to long-edge flipping in the print dialog. Short-edge flipping turns the page over about its top, which would put the backs upside down and in the wrong rows.

Yes. Turn the backs off and only the front sheets are produced, which is what you want for single-sided cards or for writing the answers in by hand.

Yes. Add a third column to a line and that text is printed as a small label on both sides of the card, which is handy for sorting a large deck by topic.
