About Photo Frame & Border

Photo Frame & Border adds a frame around your picture without covering any of it — the canvas grows outward, so every pixel of the original stays visible. Choose from seven styles: a solid border, a two-color gradient, rounded corners, a classic Polaroid mat, a film strip with sprocket holes, an inner vignette or a gallery-style double border.

Each style has its own controls — border width and color, gradient colors and angle, mat color, corner radius — and the Polaroid style accepts a caption with a choice of font and color. The live preview renders the frame at full resolution, exactly as it will download.

Everything happens in your browser; the photo is never uploaded, and the tool is free.

How to use Photo Frame & Border

  1. Upload a photo (JPG, PNG or WebP, up to 25 MB) or paste it from the clipboard.
  2. Pick a frame style — solid, gradient, rounded, Polaroid, film strip, vignette or double border.
  3. Adjust the style’s options: widths, colors, radius, or gradient angle.
  4. For the Polaroid style, type an optional caption and choose its font and color.
  5. Download the framed photo.

Yes. Framing photos and downloading the results is free, with no credits, sign-up or watermarks.

No — with one deliberate exception. Frames are added around the image, growing the canvas outward, so nothing is hidden. Only the inner-vignette style intentionally darkens the photo’s edges for effect.

Yes. The Polaroid style includes a thick bottom mat with an optional caption — type your text and pick a caption font and color to complete the instant-photo look.

No. The frame is composited in your browser at the photo’s full resolution, and the download is produced locally too — your image never leaves your device.

No. The frame is rendered at the original resolution of your photo, so the picture inside stays pixel-identical — the output is simply larger to make room for the border.
