About Compress Images

The Image Compressor shrinks a file’s size while keeping its original format: a JPG stays a JPG, a PNG stays a PNG. Pick a compression level (High for near-lossless photography, Balanced for the web, Small for email and thumbnails) and optionally resize the longest side to 2560, 1920 or 1080 pixels.

Smaller images mean faster pages, lighter emails and less storage. The result screen shows original versus compressed sizes and the percentage saved, and a before-and-after slider lets you inspect the quality closely before downloading, so you never trade more detail than you meant to.

You can also compress several images at once: add a batch and the tool processes them together and delivers a single ZIP. Supported inputs are JPG, PNG, WebP, GIF and BMP, and the compressor is free to use.

How to use Compress Images

  1. Upload an image, or several, in JPG, PNG, WebP, GIF or BMP.
  2. Pick a compression level: High, Balanced or Small.
  3. Optionally resize the longest side to 2560, 1920 or 1080 px.
  4. Click “Compress image” and compare before and after with the slider.
  5. Download the compressed file, or the ZIP when compressing a batch.

Frequently asked questions

It depends on the source: photos straight from a camera often shrink dramatically, while already-optimized images gain little. The result screen shows the exact savings, and the slider lets you verify quality.

Yes: add up to the shown limit in one batch and the compressed copies are bundled into a single ZIP download.

High is near-lossless and suits photography; Balanced is the sweet spot for websites; Small produces tiny files for email and thumbnails. Adding a max dimension shrinks files further.

Yes: compressing images is free.
