About Add Page Numbers to PDF

Add Page Numbers to PDF stamps numbers onto a document that was exported or scanned without them. Choose one of six positions — top or bottom, left, center or right — set the margin, and watch a live preview badge appear on every page thumbnail exactly where the numbers will print.

The numbering is flexible: start from any first number, restrict numbering to a page range (useful when a cover page should stay clean), and pick the text format — the bare number, “Page 1”, “Page 1 / 12”, or a custom template using {n} for the current page and {p} for the last one.

Typography is adjustable too, with Helvetica, Times or Courier fonts, three sizes and a custom color. The numbers are stamped into the PDF on the server, so they appear in every reader and on paper.

How to use Add Page Numbers to PDF

  1. Drag and drop the PDF you want to number.
  2. Pick the position (e.g. bottom center) and margin; the live preview shows where numbers will sit.
  3. Set the first number and, if needed, the page range to number.
  4. Choose the text format — plain number, “Page {n}”, “Page {n} / {p}” or custom text.
  5. Adjust the font, size and color, then click “Add page numbers” to download the numbered PDF.
