How it works
About Voice Recorder
The Voice Recorder captures audio from your microphone directly in the browser — no app or software to install. Choose which microphone to use, hit record, and pause and resume as often as you need. When you stop, you can listen back to the take before deciding to keep it.
Saving converts your take into a clean, universally playable MP3, so you get a tidy file instead of a raw browser recording. That makes it handy for voice memos, podcast segments, interview answers, language practice, and quick narration drafts.
The tool is free. Recording itself happens entirely on your device; only when you choose to save is the clip sent to the server for MP3 conversion, and temporary files are cleaned up automatically. On-page tips help you get a better take: record in a quiet room, keep a consistent distance from the mic, and do a short test first.
