Tap BPM Counter
Tap along to any song to instantly measure its tempo in beats per minute. Free and runs in your browser.
Tap the button (or press the spacebar) in time with the beat. The more taps, the more accurate the reading.
About Tap BPM Counter
The Tap BPM Counter measures the tempo of any song the natural way: you tap along, it does the math. Play the track, tap the big button — or press the spacebar — in time with the beat, and the counter shows the tempo in beats per minute, updating with every tap.
Accuracy improves the longer you tap: the counter averages your taps, so a dozen or more gives a reliable reading. It shows the tap count alongside the live BPM and a rounded value, and a Reset button clears everything for the next song.
DJs use it to match tracks, musicians to figure out a song’s tempo before practicing it with a metronome, and producers to set a project tempo from a reference track. It is free, runs entirely in your browser, and no audio is captured or uploaded — it only listens to your taps.
How to use Tap BPM Counter
- Play the song you want to measure on any device.
- Tap the button — or press the spacebar — in time with the beat.
- Keep tapping for at least a dozen beats; the BPM reading gets more accurate with more taps.
- Read the measured BPM, then press Reset before measuring another track.
