About Pixelate & Censor Image

Pixelate & Censor Image hides sensitive details in a photo before you share it. Drag a box over a face, a license plate, a name, an address or an account number, then choose how to redact it: a chunky pixel mosaic, a heavy blur or a solid color box.

You can add as many regions as you need, move and resize each one with its handles, and tune the strength — block size for pixelation, radius for blur, fill color for boxes. The redaction is baked into the exported pixels, so it cannot be reversed by anyone who receives the file.

All processing happens locally in your browser; the photo is never uploaded. Download the redacted image as PNG or JPG.

Frequently asked questions

Yes, fully free — no credits, no account and no limit on how many images or regions you redact.

No. The effect is permanently baked into the downloaded pixels — the original data in those regions is destroyed, not hidden under a removable layer. Keep your own original file if you need the unredacted version.

Pixelate gives the classic censor mosaic and clearly signals redaction. Blur looks more editorial and discreet. A black box (any fill color) is the most absolute — nothing of the region remains visible.

No. Drawing regions, applying effects and exporting all run in your browser, so the unredacted photo never touches a server — exactly what you want when the content is sensitive.

As many as you need. Each region gets its own entry in the sidebar, where you can select or remove it, and all regions share the effect and strength you choose.
