About Screen Color Picker

The Screen Color Picker is an online eyedropper: click "Pick from screen" and sample the color of any pixel anywhere on your display — another browser tab, a desktop app, a video frame. It uses the native EyeDropper API built into Chromium browsers such as Chrome and Edge.

If your browser lacks the eyedropper, or you want colors from a specific file, drop an image onto the page instead. A magnifier follows your cursor as you hover the image, and each click adds the pixel under it to your palette — precise enough to grab a 1-pixel border color.

Every color you sample lands in a collected palette where each swatch can be copied individually or all at once. Nothing is uploaded and nothing is stored on a server; both the screen sampling and the image picking happen entirely in your browser, free of charge.

How to use Screen Color Picker

  1. Click "Pick from screen" and select any pixel on your display (requires Chrome, Edge or another Chromium browser).
  2. Alternatively, drop an image onto the page, hover to magnify, and click to sample pixels.
  3. Repeat to collect as many colors as you need — each one is added to your palette.
  4. Copy individual swatches or use "Copy all"; remove strays or clear the palette anytime.

The screen eyedropper relies on the EyeDropper API, which is currently available in Chromium-based browsers like Chrome, Edge, Brave and Opera. In Firefox or Safari, use the image mode instead: drop a screenshot and pick colors from it.

Yes. Once the eyedropper is active you can sample any pixel on your screen, including other applications, the desktop and paused videos — not just the current page.

No. The image is drawn onto a canvas inside your browser and sampled locally. Neither your image nor your picked colors are sent to a server.
