About Mute Video

Mute Video strips the audio track from a clip completely, leaving a clean, silent MP4. It is the quick fix when background noise, music rights or a stray conversation means the sound has to go before you share the footage.

The picture is not re-encoded — the video stream is passed through untouched — so muting is fast and costs zero visual quality. Before applying, the page plays your upload muted, exactly like the result, and a toggle lets you flip back to the original sound for comparison; it even tells you if the clip is already silent.

Muting runs on the server and is completely free. If you want to replace the sound rather than just remove it, follow up with the Add Audio to Video tool.
