About EXIF & Metadata Remover
Photos quietly carry metadata: your GPS location, camera model and serial, the exact capture date and the software you edited with. The EXIF & Metadata Remover scans a photo, shows you exactly what it found and wipes it all, producing a clean copy safe to share.
The cleaning happens entirely in your browser — the photo is never uploaded. For JPG files the strip is lossless: metadata segments are removed without re-encoding, so the pixels are byte-for-byte untouched. Formats that cannot be stripped in place are cleaned by re-saving a fresh copy.
After cleaning, the tool verifies the result contains no readable metadata and reports how many tags were removed. An option lets you keep the ICC color profile for accurate colors, or drop it too for the smallest, most thorough strip.
How to use EXIF & Metadata Remover
- Drop a photo — JPG, PNG, WebP, GIF or BMP — or click to choose one.
- Review what was found: GPS location, camera info, dates, software, author.
- Decide whether to keep the ICC color profile.
- Click “Remove metadata & download” to save the clean copy.
- Check the confirmation: tags removed and the cleaned file verified metadata-free.
