Compress a photo to under 50 KB for application forms and portals. Free, private and done in your browser.

A 50 KB limit is the most common cap for passport-style photos on exam, job and visa portals. The 50 KB target is already selected: drop your images and each one is saved just under 50 KB with the best quality the size allows. Nothing is uploaded: everything runs in your browser.

  1. 1Add up to 30 images
  2. 2Pick a target file size

JPG, PNG, WebP or GIF, up to 25 MB.

Up to 30 images at once.

or paste an image from your clipboard (Ctrl+V)

Target file size
Enter a size between 1 KB and 50 MB.

Each image is saved just under this size. 1 KB counts as 1,000 bytes, so files also pass the strictest upload checks.

Output format

PNG cannot be shrunk by quality, so PNG files are saved as JPG or WebP. Only WebP keeps transparency: JPG gets a white background. With "Same as original", a transparent PNG becomes WebP and any other PNG becomes JPG.

Dimensions

When lowering the quality is not enough to reach the size, the image is scaled down step by step until it fits.

Optional: images larger than this are scaled down first, keeping their proportions.

Your images never leave your device: everything runs in your browser.

About Compress Image to 50KB

This free tool compresses an image to under 50 KB. A 50 KB cap is the most common limit for passport-style photos on exam registrations (IBPS, SSC and many others), job portals, visa forms and online admissions, which reject a file as soon as it is slightly too heavy.

For every image, the browser searches the encoder quality step by step and keeps the highest quality that still fits under 50 KB. When lowering the quality is not enough, it scales the image down gradually until it fits, and an image that is already under 50 KB is kept as it is. A target counts 1 KB as 1,000 bytes, so the file also passes the strictest upload checks.

You can add up to 30 images at once, save them as JPG or WebP (or keep the original format), cap the width and height, and download one file or everything as a ZIP. Nothing is uploaded: the compression runs entirely in your browser, so your photos stay private. Need another size? Pick any other chip or type your own value.

How to use Compress Image to 50KB

  1. The 50 KB target is already selected; change it if your form asks for another size.

  3. Drop up to 30 images (JPG, PNG, WebP or GIF), or paste one with Ctrl+V.
  4. Check each result with the before and after slider and its final size.
  5. Download a single image, or all of them as a ZIP file.

Frequently asked questions

Drop the photo here and download the result: the 50 KB target is already set. The tool keeps the highest quality that fits and shows the final size in bytes before you download.

Rarely. A face photo of a few hundred pixels wide stays sharp at 50 KB. If the picture is very large, the tool also reduces its dimensions gradually, which keeps faces crisp instead of blocky.

Yes: use the Photo & Signature Resizer, which fits the file inside a minimum and maximum KB range and crops it to the exact pixel size the form asks for.

No. The whole compression runs in your browser, so your images never leave your device and the tool works even with private documents.
