About Universal Unit Converter

The Universal Unit Converter converts measurements across 16 categories: length, area, volume, weight and mass, temperature, time, speed, angle, pressure, energy, power, digital storage, frequency, electric current, electric charge and voltage. Type a value once and the result appears instantly, along with the formula used.

Most conversions multiply your value by a fixed factor — for example, 1 mile equals 1.609344 kilometers. Temperature is the exception: Celsius, Fahrenheit, Kelvin and Rankine use offset formulas such as °F = °C × 9/5 + 32, which the tool applies automatically.

It is the quick answer when a recipe lists US cups, a spec sheet uses PSI, or a file size is quoted in gibibytes. An “All conversions” table shows your value in every unit of the category at once — click any figure to copy it. Free and entirely in your browser.

How to use Universal Unit Converter

  1. Pick a conversion type from the 16 categories, or use the search box to find a category or unit by name.
  2. Choose the “From” unit and the “To” unit from the dropdowns.
  3. Enter your value — the result and the conversion formula update as you type.
  4. Click the swap button to reverse the direction of the conversion.
  5. Scroll to the “All conversions” table to see your value in every unit of the category and click any value to copy it.

Frequently asked questions

Sixteen: length, area, volume, weight and mass, temperature, time, speed, angle, pressure, energy, power, digital storage, frequency, electric current, electric charge and voltage — covering everyday, scientific and technical conversions in one place.

Each unit is defined relative to a base unit (the meter, kilogram, second and so on), so converting multiplies by one factor and divides by another. Temperature uses dedicated formulas because its scales have different zero points.

Select the Temperature category, choose Celsius as “From” and Fahrenheit as “To”, then type the value. The tool applies °F = °C × 9/5 + 32 and shows the formula beneath the result.

A US gallon is about 3.785 liters while a UK (imperial) gallon is about 4.546 liters — roughly 20% larger. The volume category lists both, plus quarts, pints, cups and fluid ounces.

Yes. The “All conversions” panel converts your input into every unit of the selected category simultaneously. Click any value in the list to copy it straight to your clipboard.
