Cooking Converter
Convert recipe measurements instantly — cups to grams, millilitres, tablespoons, ounces, oven temperatures and gas marks, plus scale any recipe up or down by servings.
About Cooking Converter
The cooking converter translates recipe measurements between the units kitchens actually use: cups, tablespoons, teaspoons, fluid ounces, millilitres and litres for volume; grams, kilograms, ounces and pounds for weight; and Celsius, Fahrenheit and gas marks for oven temperature. Pick a mode, enter an amount and the conversion appears instantly.
A fourth mode scales whole recipes: enter the original and desired servings plus an ingredient amount, and the tool returns the scaled quantity along with the overall scale factor to apply to every other ingredient. Volume conversions use US customary cups of 236.6 ml, and gas marks follow the usual approximation of mark 4 ≈ 180 °C.
It saves you from mid-recipe math when a European recipe lists grams and your measuring set is in cups — or vice versa. The converter is free and runs in your browser; note that converting dry ingredients between cups and grams depends on density, so a kitchen scale remains the most accurate option.
How to use Cooking Converter
- Choose what to convert: volume, weight, temperature or scale servings.
- Enter the amount and pick the “from” and “to” units — or, for scaling, the original and desired servings plus an ingredient amount.
- Read the result, the equivalent values and, when scaling, the factor to apply to the rest of the recipe.
