Tile Calculator
Tiles, boxes and adhesive for a floor or wall
About Tile Calculator
The tile calculator estimates how many tiles, boxes, and kilograms of adhesive a floor or wall needs. Enter the area to cover, pick a tile size from the presets or type a custom width and height, set the joint width, and add a wastage percentage — the tool does the rest.
It computes how many tiles fit per square meter including the grout joints, then inflates the count by your wastage allowance to cover cuts, breakage, and pattern matching. Tell it how many tiles come in a box and it converts the count into whole boxes to buy; an adhesive rate of about 4 kg/m² — typical with a standard notched trowel — yields the adhesive estimate.
The defaults reflect common practice: 3 mm joints and 10% wastage suit a straight-lay floor, while diagonal layouts warrant around 15%. Use it free in your browser before a bathroom, kitchen, or terrace project so the order matches reality — and keep a few spares for future repairs.
