About Word & Character Counter
The word and character counter analyzes your text live as you type or paste. It tracks words, characters with and without spaces, sentences, paragraphs, lines and unique words, plus average word length and the longest word — everything a writing limit or style check needs.
Reading time is computed from an adjustable words-per-minute speed, and speaking time uses a typical 130 wpm speech pace. A keyword density panel counts your most frequent words and phrases — switchable between one-, two- and three-word phrases — with an option to ignore common stop words.
It is free and private: all counting happens in your browser, nothing is uploaded, and copy and clear buttons keep the workflow quick for essays, tweets, meta descriptions and SEO drafts.
How to use Word & Character Counter
- Type or paste your text — every statistic updates live.
- Read the word, character, sentence, paragraph, line and unique-word counts.
- Adjust the reading speed to match your audience and check reading and speaking time.
- Open the keyword density panel, pick a phrase length of 1–3 words, and toggle “Ignore common words”.
