Aspect ratios are GCD-reduced; the standard column shows the common marketing ratio (e.g. 21:9 for ultrawide). Mobile and tablet entries list native pixel resolutions. Click any row to copy its resolution.

About Screen Resolutions & Aspect Ratios

This reference collects more than fifty common display and video resolutions — from VGA and other classic modes through 720p, 1080p, 1440p and 4K up to 8K — alongside ultrawide monitor formats and the native screens of popular phones and tablets. Each entry lists the pixel dimensions, the standard’s usual name, the simplified aspect ratio and the megapixel count.

Aspect ratios are reduced with a greatest-common-divisor pass, so 1920 × 1080 reads as 16:9, and awkward mobile ratios collapse to a readable one-decimal form like 19.5:9. Sortable columns and category chips — SD, HD, Full HD, QHD, 4K, ultrawide, mobile, tablet and more — make it easy to compare families of screens.

A custom calculator handles anything not in the table: type any width and height and it returns the simplified ratio, its decimal value, the megapixels and the total pixel count. Clicking a row copies the dimensions in the compact WxH form used by design tools and video encoders.

How to use Screen Resolutions & Aspect Ratios

  1. Enter any width and height in the custom helper to get its aspect ratio, decimal ratio, megapixels and total pixels.
  2. Or browse the table: filter by category chips such as HD, 4K, ultrawide, mobile or tablet.
  3. Search by name, standard, dimensions or ratio — typing 1440 or QHD both work.
  4. Sort by any column to rank resolutions by size, ratio or megapixels.
  5. Click a row or its copy button to copy the dimensions as WxH.

Frequently asked questions

Consumer 4K UHD is 3840 × 2160 — four times the pixels of 1080p at the same 16:9 ratio — while cinema DCI 4K is 4096 × 2160. The table lists both so you can pick the right target for video or design work.

The tool divides width and height by their greatest common divisor, so 2560 × 1440 becomes 16:9. Ratios that reduce to unwieldy numbers, common on modern phones, are shown in a one-decimal form such as 19.5:9 instead.

Width times height divided by one million. A 1920 × 1080 frame is about 2.1 MP, and 3840 × 2160 is about 8.3 MP — a quick way to compare how much detail two screens or video formats actually carry.

Yes. The mobile and tablet categories cover current flagship and mainstream devices — several iPhone and iPad models, Google Pixel and Samsung Galaxy phones and tablets, and Surface Pro — with pixel densities noted where relevant.
