About Business Days Calculator

The Business Days Calculator counts the working days between two dates, automatically excluding Saturdays and Sundays. A second mode works forward instead: give it a start date and a number of business days, and it returns the calendar date you land on.

Alongside the working-day count you get the total calendar days, the number of weekend days excluded and the equivalent in weeks — a full picture of the span. Public holidays are not subtracted, since they vary by country, so deduct those manually if they affect your deadline.

How to use Business Days Calculator

  1. Choose the mode: “Days between” to count working days, or “Add business days” to project a date.
  2. For counting, pick the start date and the end date.
  3. For adding, pick the start date and enter the number of business days to add.
  4. Read the result — the business-day count or the resulting end date — plus total calendar days, excluded weekend days and weeks.

Frequently asked questions

Monday through Friday. The calculator excludes every Saturday and Sunday between your dates. Public holidays are not excluded automatically, so subtract any that fall in your range if they matter.

Switch to the “Add business days” mode, set the start date to today and enter 5. The tool skips over weekends and returns the exact calendar date you land on.

Every full week contains two weekend days, so roughly 2 of every 7 calendar days are removed. The results panel shows exactly how many weekend days were excluded from your span.

No — holidays differ by country, region and year, so they are left in the count. If your range includes public holidays, subtract them manually from the business-day result.

The count covers the span between the two dates, with weekends removed. If your process counts the first day itself (for example, “day one” of an SLA), adjust the start date by one day.
