Income Tax Calculator
Estimate income tax across editable progressive brackets. Enter your taxable income and adjust the bracket thresholds and rates to see total tax and your effective rate.
About Income Tax Calculator
The Income Tax Calculator estimates tax on your annual taxable income using progressive brackets — and unlike fixed-country tools, every bracket is editable. Adjust each band’s starting income and rate to match your jurisdiction, then read the total tax, effective rate, marginal rate and after-tax income.
Progressive taxation means each rate applies only to the income inside its band: with brackets of 10% up to 10,000 and 20% above, an income of 15,000 pays 10% on the first 10,000 and 20% on the remaining 5,000. Your marginal rate is the rate on your last unit of income; the effective rate is total tax divided by total income.
It is useful for comparing salary offers, estimating tax under a proposed bracket change or simply understanding how marginal rates really work. The default brackets are examples, so set your own. Free and instant, computed in your browser.
