Read your script hands-free with a smooth auto-scrolling teleprompter — adjustable speed, font size, mirror mode and keyboard control, free in your browser.

Paste your script, tune the display settings and start the full-screen prompter. Everything runs in your browser — nothing is uploaded, and your settings are remembered for next time.

Your system prefers reduced motion, so the prompter opens paused — press Space or Play when you are ready.

About Online Teleprompter

The Online Teleprompter turns your browser into a professional prompter. Paste or type your script, press Start and read it hands-free from a full-screen display with smooth auto-scrolling text on a black background — ideal for YouTube videos, courses, presentations, speeches and live streams.

Everything is adjustable while you read: scroll speed, font size, line height, side margins and text color. Mirror mode flips the text horizontally for beam-splitter teleprompter rigs, and a vertical flip is available for overhead glass. An optional countdown gives you time to settle before the text starts moving, and a progress bar with a remaining-time estimate keeps you on schedule.

Keyboard shortcuts control the whole session — Space plays and pauses, the arrow keys change speed and jump through the script, R restarts, M mirrors and F toggles fullscreen — so you never have to reach for the mouse mid-take. Your settings are saved in your browser, the script never leaves your device, and the tool is completely free.

How to use Online Teleprompter

  1. Paste or type your script into the text box (or click Load sample).
  2. Set the scroll speed, font size, line height, margins and text color; enable mirror mode if you read through a beam-splitter.
  3. Optionally choose a 3, 5 or 10 second countdown.
  4. Click Start prompter — the script opens full screen and begins scrolling after the countdown.
  5. Use Space to pause, the arrow keys to adjust speed or jump, and Esc to exit when you are done.

Frequently asked questions

Yes — the prompter is completely free with no credits, sign-up, watermarks or time limits. Your script stays in your browser and is never uploaded.

With the keyboard: Space plays and pauses, the up and down arrows change the speed, the left and right arrows jump backward and forward, R restarts from the top, M toggles mirror mode, F toggles fullscreen and Esc exits.

Hardware teleprompter rigs reflect the screen in a beam-splitter glass in front of the lens, which reverses the image. Mirror mode pre-flips the text horizontally so it reads correctly in the reflection; a vertical flip is also available for rigs that need it.

Most people speak comfortably at 130–160 words per minute. Load your script, start at a moderate speed and fine-tune with the arrow keys while reading the first lines — the remaining-time estimate updates live so you can match your target video length.

Yes — it pairs naturally with a webcam or screen recording: start your recording, switch to the prompter tab in fullscreen and read. Because it runs locally in the browser, there is no lag and no network dependency.

Your display settings (speed, font size, colors, mirror and countdown) are remembered in your browser via localStorage. The script itself is kept only for the session and is never sent to a server.
