О Dividend Calculator
The Dividend Calculator projects what a dividend-paying investment could become over time. Enter your initial investment, the share price, the dividend yield, how fast the dividend and the share price grow each year and how many years you want to model, and it builds a year-by-year table of share count, dividend income and portfolio value.
The reinvestment switch is where the compounding shows. With DRIP on, each year's dividends buy more shares at that year's price, so the share count grows and the following year's income is larger — the classic snowball. With it off, dividends are taken as cash and the share count stays fixed, which is how income investors model a portfolio they actually live on.
Use it to see how many years of reinvestment it takes for dividend income to reach a target, or to compare a high-yield, low-growth holding against a lower-yield dividend grower. Taxes, fees and dividend cuts are not modelled, so treat the output as a projection rather than a forecast.
