О Dew Point Calculator

The Dew Point Calculator turns an air temperature and relative humidity reading into the dew point — the temperature at which the air becomes saturated and water starts to condense. Unlike relative humidity, which moves whenever the temperature moves, the dew point is a stable measure of how much moisture the air actually holds.

It uses the Magnus formula with the widely cited Sonntag coefficients (a = 17.62, b = 243.12 °C), accurate to roughly 0.1 °C between −45 °C and 60 °C, and also reports absolute humidity in grams of water per cubic metre and the temperature-to-dew-point spread.

Meteorologists judge muggy weather by dew point rather than humidity: below 10 °C the air feels dry, above 21 °C it feels muggy, and above 24 °C it is oppressive. The tool maps your result onto that comfort scale automatically. Free and browser-based.

Как использовать Dew Point Calculator

  1. Choose °C or °F for the temperature input.
  2. Enter the current air temperature.
  3. Enter the relative humidity as a percentage.
  4. Read the dew point and where it falls on the comfort scale.
  5. Check the absolute humidity and the temperature−dew-point spread for the full picture.

Часто задаваемые вопросы

The dew point is the temperature the air would have to cool to before its moisture condenses into dew, fog or cloud. The closer it is to the current temperature, the more saturated the air is.

Dew point, for comfort. Relative humidity is a ratio that changes with temperature, so 70% at dawn and 70% at noon describe very different air. The dew point measures the actual moisture content directly.

Below about 13 °C (55 °F) most people find the air pleasant. From 16 °C it starts to feel sticky, from 21 °C clearly muggy, and above 24 °C (75 °F) it feels oppressive and outdoor exertion becomes harder.

No. The dew point is always at or below the air temperature; when the two are equal the relative humidity is 100% and the air is fully saturated — fog, dew or rain conditions.

It is the standard approximation of saturation vapour pressure used to derive dew point: with γ = ln(RH/100) + aT/(b+T), the dew point equals bγ/(a−γ). This calculator uses a = 17.62 and b = 243.12 °C.
