Fence Calculator
Plan a fence build: enter the length, post spacing and gates to get the posts, panels or pickets, rails and concrete bags you need to buy.
Fence Calculator 소개
The Fence Calculator turns a fence line into a shopping list. Enter the total run, your post spacing, how many gates you need and their width, and it works out the number of posts, panels or pickets, rails and bags of concrete the job takes — in metric or imperial units.
The logic follows how fences are actually built. Gate openings are subtracted from the run first, because a gate is not fence. The remaining length is divided by the post spacing and rounded up to whole sections, posts equal sections plus one, and every gate adds an extra post for its hinge and latch side.
For picket fences the tool counts each picket plus its gap as one repeating unit along the fenced length, so changing the gap immediately changes the picket count. Typical spacings are 2.4 m (8 ft) for panel fencing and 1.8–2.4 m for post-and-rail; order about 10% extra pickets for cuts and waste.
