The Lined Paper generator prints ruled writing paper at exactly the spacing you ask for. College rule is 7.1 mm, wide rule 8.7 mm and narrow rule 6.35 mm — the true spacings of ruled pads — and a custom setting takes any value between 3 and 30 mm.

The red margin rule sits 31.75 mm (1.25 in) from the left edge, where a ruled pad puts it, and can be switched off for plain ruling. A header space adds a Name and Date block with its own writing rules above the first line, which is what turns the sheet into a worksheet to hand in.

Lines come in fine, medium or bold weight, in blue, grey or a colour of your own, on A4 or Letter in portrait or landscape, with a margin from 0 to 40 mm and up to twenty pages. It is all drawn in real millimetres in your browser: print it from the page, or download a vector PDF.

Come usare Carta a righe

1. Pick the ruling: college, wide or narrow rule, or your own spacing in millimetres.
2. Choose the line weight and the line colour.
3. Switch the red margin rule on or off, and add a header space for a name and date.
4. Set the paper size, orientation, page margin and how many pages you want.
5. Check the live preview, then print the sheet or download the PDF.
